Getting Started FAQ’s

Greg & Brenda Wilson
Technology Advisors

Whether you’re the owner, the office manager, or the one everyone calls when something stops working – you can reach out to us. We meet you where you are, explain things in plain English, and help you make smart, secure decisions about your technology. No pressure, no tech-speak — just guidance you can trust.

We help hardworking small businesses – from electricians and builders to local shops and service companies. If technology feels messy, confusing, or like one more thing you don’t have time for, that’s where we come in. If you’ve ever thought, “I just want it to work,” you’re in the right place.

Not one bit. Most of our clients come to us because they’d rather focus on running their business, not wrestling with technology. We skip the tech talk and explain things in plain English so you always feel clear and confident about your next step.

Absolutely. Many of our clients already have someone handling day-to-day tech or helpdesk tasks. We work alongside them as your trusted technology advisors, making sure your systems are working together, your business stays protected, and your decisions make sense for the long run.

Most of what we do can be handled remotely — it’s quicker, easier, and saves you time. But when meeting in person makes more sense, we’ll happily make that happen. Either way, you’ll always get the same personal, dependable care.

Start with a Personal Technology Roadmap. It’s a guided session that shows what’s working, what’s risky, and how to simplify and protect your systems. You’ll leave with a clear plan – no pressure, no tech-speak, just practical steps that make sense for your business.

DIY Playbook FAQ’s

We believe small businesses deserve to save time and money by making technology simple, secure, and stress-free.

That’s why we created our DIY Resources – free and low-cost tools to help you get organized, protected, and confident with technology, even if
you’re not a ‘tech person.

They’re simple, step-by-step guides and checklists that help you understand and organize your technology. Each one focuses on something specific – like keeping your data safe, managing passwords, or spotting risks before they turn into problems. They’re made for busy small business owners who want clarity without all the tech-speak.

Yes – that’s exactly who we made them for. You don’t need to know the technical details or be good with computers. Everything is written in plain English with short explanations and practical steps you can do right away. Most people tell us it’s the first time tech finally made sense.

You’ll find free checklists, playbooks, and tools that cover things like staying secure online, organizing your systems, and saving time with better tools. Each one helps you take real steps toward making your technology simpler and safer – without spending a dime.

The free ones are great for quick wins – they help you tighten up security, get organized, and spot gaps. The paid ones go deeper, guiding you step-by-step to build better systems and habits for long-term results. Think of the free versions as “get started” and the paid ones as “get it done right.”

Nope. You can start wherever feels best for you. The playbooks are great if you want to explore things on your own, while the Personal Technology Roadmap
gives you personalized guidance and a clear plan tailored to your business. Either way, you’ll be taking a smart first step toward getting control of your technology.

No problem – that’s what we’re here for. You can always reach out with questions, and we’ll point you in the right direction. Some people start with a free playbook, then schedule a Personal Roadmap once they realize they’d like a little more help. There’s no pressure either way.

Absolutely. Every resource we create is designed to make a real difference – even if you never hire us. We believe small business owners deserve tools that help them stay safe, save time, and feel confident with technology. If our free or low-cost guides can give you that, then we’ve done our job.

Personal Roadmap FAQ’s

Think of your Personal Technology Roadmap as a simple, no-pressure way to finally understand what’s really happening with your business technology.

We’ll look at how your systems are running, spot risks and time-wasters, and give you a clear, plain-English plan to make things smoother, safer, and easier to manage.

It’s not about judging your setup – it’s about giving you clarity, confidence, and peace of mind so you can make smart decisions without the stress.

It’s like a business health check for your technology – but without the tech talk. We review how your systems, tools, and security fit together, then show you what’s working, what’s risky, and what could be simplified. You’ll leave with a clear plan you can actually understand and use.

If you like to explore things on your own, the Self-Guided version walks you through everything step by step. If you’d rather have us walk alongside you and talk through each area together, the Partnered Roadmap is the best fit. Either way, you’ll get clarity and a solid next-step plan –  it just depends on how hands-on you want us to be.

We often find hidden risks, inefficiencies, or overlapping tools that waste time and money. Sometimes we uncover simple fixes – other times, opportunities to strengthen security or improve how your team works together. The goal is to give you a full picture so you can make confident, informed decisions.

No. You stay in full control of your accounts and data at all times. We’ll only ask for limited information – just enough to review and guide you properly. Your privacy and security always come first.

  • Self-Guided: 5–7 business days from when you submit your form.

  • Live Deep-Dive: Report delivered within 72 hours after your session.
We know you’re busy — everything is streamlined so you can keep your focus on your business.

That’s perfectly fine – many of our clients do. We don’t replace your IT provider; we work alongside them. Think of us as your trusted advisors, helping you make sure the work being done truly supports your business goals and keeps you protected.

You’ll have a clear, prioritized action plan – no pressure, no commitments. Some clients take their plan and run with it. Others decide they’d like ongoing guidance and move into a Support Plan so we can keep things on track together. You choose what fits best for you.

Then we’ll make it right. Our goal is to give you complete understanding of your technology – not confusion. If something doesn’t make sense, we’ll explain it again in plain English until you feel confident. You’ll never be left guessing.

Support Plans FAQ’s

Once your systems are in good shape, our Support Plans keep them that way — quietly running in the background so you can focus on your business.

Think of it as having your own trusted technology advisors on call – watching over your systems, reviewing your tools, and helping you plan ahead so nothing slips through the cracks.

We handle the details, updates, and oversight so you can finally enjoy reliable, stress-free technology without worrying about what might break next.

They keep your business technology running smoothly and securely — without you having to manage it all. We oversee your systems, review updates, make sure your vendors are doing their jobs, and spot risks before they become problems. It’s proactive care, not break-fix work — so you can relax knowing things are under control.

Each plan builds on the next. The Essentials Plan covers the basics — regular checkups, system reviews, and vendor oversight. Higher tiers include deeper planning, strategic reviews, and hands-on help with technology decisions. Every plan gives you peace of mind; it just depends on how involved you want us to be.

That’s great — those are important tools. But tools alone don’t manage themselves. Our Support Plans make sure your systems, backups, and security tools are actually doing their job – and that everything is working together properly. It’s the difference between having the parts and having someone make sure the engine runs.

No problem at all. Many of our clients do. We don’t replace your IT provider – we work alongside them as your advisors, ensuring you’re getting what you’re paying for and that your technology decisions make sense for your business long-term.

That’s perfectly fine too. We can provide the oversight and guidance that helps them succeed. Think of us as the “check and balance” that makes sure everything is secure, efficient, and aligned with your goals. It’s support for the person doing your support.

Our plans are month-to-month, so you’re never locked in. We believe in earning your trust, not trapping you in fine print. Stay as long as it’s helpful – and if your needs change, we’ll help you adjust or cancel anytime.

Our plans are focused on prevention, planning, and protection – not emergency tech support. That said, if something does come up, we’ll help coordinate the fix with your IT provider or point you in the right direction fast. You’ll never be left guessing what to do.

We personally oversee every plan, along with a small team of trusted professionals we’ve hand picked. You’ll always know who’s helping you, and we’ll stay your single point of contact – no call centers, no bouncing around between vendors.

Easy – just let us know. You can upgrade, downgrade, or pause your plan anytime. Our goal is to make your life easier, not add another layer of stress.

Security, Privacy &
Trust FAQ’s

We take your trust seriously – it’s the foundation of everything we do.

When you share information with Clearwater, it’s handled securely, privately, and only for the purpose of protecting your business.

We use the same standards we recommend to our clients: encrypted tools, limited access, and zero jargon – just honesty, safety, and care.

We treat your business information the same way we treat our own — with care, caution, and respect. We use secure, encrypted tools, limit access only to what’s necessary, and never share your information with anyone outside your project. Everything we do is focused on keeping your data private and protected.

Yes. Clearwater maintains professional liability, errors & omissions, and cybersecurity insurance. We also follow recognized cybersecurity best practices (like NIST and CIS Controls).
We’re not just preaching — we actually do what we recommend. We also work only with partners who carry their own coverage and comply with current security standards.

Every vendor and subcontractor we use is vetted for security, reliability, and professionalism. We work only with established, insured partners who align with our values of clarity and care.
We have agreements, follow strict access policies, and never contact clients directly without our permission.

Thankfully, that hasn’t happened  – and we work really hard to keep it that way.
But if something ever did, we believe transparency comes first. You’d hear from us right away with a clear explanation of what happened, what information (if any) was affected, and exactly how we’re fixing it.
We’d take full responsibility and keep you updated every step of the way.
That’s what real trust looks like –  honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Clearwater isn’t a big corporate provider — we’re a long-term, family-run business built on relationships. This is our life’s work, and we’re deeply committed to the clients who trust us. We’ve built systems, partners, and plans to make sure you always have consistent, dependable support.

We hear that a lot, and it’s exactly why we built Clearwater. We believe in plain-English communication, real transparency, and keeping your best interests first — always. You’ll never be left in the dark or sold something you don’t need. Our entire business runs on trust and word-of-mouth, and we work hard to earn that every day.

Please don’t be — that’s the norm, not the exception. We’ve seen it all: outdated systems, old passwords, and piles of mismatched tools. We’re not here to judge — we’re here to help you get organized, protected, and back in control. Every business starts somewhere, and our job is to make the next steps clear and doable.

That’s a fair question. We always encourage new clients to start small – download a free playbook, explore our Personal Roadmap, or schedule a quick chat. We’ll earn your trust by showing up consistently, communicating clearly, and doing what we say we’ll do. That’s how strong relationships start.

Pricing & Payments FAQ’s

We believe pricing should be simple, transparent, and fair – no surprise bills or confusing tech talk.

Every service we offer comes with clear costs, flexible payment options, and straightforward explanations so you always know exactly what you’re paying for and why.

Because peace of mind shouldn’t stop at your technology – it should include your invoices, too.

Everything is clear and upfront. For one-time services like your Personal Technology Roadmap, payment is made when you book. For ongoing Support Plans, billing happens automatically each month – no hidden fees, no surprises. You’ll always know exactly what’s included before you agree to anything.

Yes – we like to keep things fair and flexible. If you have multiple business locations, or if you’re committing to longer-term support, we’ll customize a plan that makes sense for your setup. We want your investment to feel comfortable and worthwhile.

Absolutely. The best place to start is with a Personal Technology Roadmap it’s a low-risk way to see exactly how we work and what we can do for your business. From there, you can decide if ongoing support is the right fit. No pressure, no long contracts – just clarity and choice.

Working With Clearwater FAQ’s

When you work with Clearwater  – you’re getting real people who genuinely care about your business.
